Meet Your Team
Michael M. Hayes, Phi ’87
Chairman, House Fundraising Committee
Michael Hayes has proudly carried on a family legacy with Sigma Tau Gamma since his initiation into the Phi Chapter in 1987. His father, Don Hayes, was also a Sig Tau and served as a former chapter advisor —setting an example of lifelong commitment to brotherhood that Michael continues today.
A native of Louisiana now living in Atlanta, Michael serves as Chief Commercial Officer – The Americas for Newell Brands, where he leads sales and marketing across household names like Sharpie, Graco, Coleman, Rubbermaid, and Yankee Candle. His leadership career spans decades of high-level engagement with major retailers across North and South America.
During his time at Southeastern, Michael held several leadership roles within the chapter and on campus — including VP of Membership, Pledge Educator, and President of IFC in 1991. He credits Sig Tau with shaping his confidence, communication skills, and lasting friendships that have carried through every stage of life.
As Chairman of the House Fundraising Committee, Michael is passionate about creating the same experience for future brothers that he had at 407 W. Colorado Street. “Many of my best college memories were made there. I want to follow the lead of the alumni who gave us that opportunity — and now it’s our turn.”
Michael hopes the new house will not only honor the chapter’s legacy but also differentiate Sig Tau within Southeastern’s Greek system for years to come. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Nikki Faucheux (AOPi ’94), and their three children — Will, Nate, and Grace — all of whom know better than to cheer for any team other than the New Orleans Saints and LSU Fighting Tigers.
Dwayne Judice, Phi ’85
Vice Chairman, House Fundraising Committee Treasurer and Past President, Phi Alumni Association
Dwayne Judice has proudly called Phi Chapter home since his initiation in 1985. As an undergraduate, he served in multiple leadership roles including Vice President of Education, Pledge Educator, and Chapter President during Phi Chapter’s 50th Anniversary. These experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to the values of Sigma Tau Gamma — leadership, learning, and brotherhood. Dwayne currently lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and works as a Consulting Manager with Emergent Method, where he partners with public-sector clients to enhance training programs, streamline processes, and ensure compliance for disaster recovery initiatives across multiple states.
His career spans decades of experience in risk management, leading quality assurance efforts, and overseeing large-scale financial settlements. He also serves on the Board of Governors for WPN Housing, Sigma Tau Gamma’s national housing organization.
Dwayne is the current Treasurer of the Phi Alumni Association and previously served two terms as its President. After rejoining the board to review the chapter’s scholarship fund, he quickly recognized the lasting impact that the loss of 407 W. Colorado and the undergraduate challenges with University Greek Housing had on the chapter’s future and experience. “That moment lit a fire. I had some of the best years of my life at 407 W. Colorado — and I realized it was time to help this generation of undergrads build something of their own.”
Now an active member of the House Fundraising Committee, Dwayne brings a sharp focus on strategy, governance, and impact on the campaign. He is proud to be working alongside brothers like Tom
Pistorius and Nicky Muscarello, who helped bring the vision to life. “I’m in awe of the brothers from my generation who continue to jump on board and are taking this fundraising to a whole new level. There’s
so much talent.” Dwayne recently married his best friend of 12 years, and their family includes two loyal (and energetic)
dogs, Brody and Champ.
Paul H. Phillips III, Phi ’91
Finance Chair, House Fundraising Committee
Paul Phillips joined Sigma Tau Gamma’s Phi Chapter in 1991, recruited by Brother Chris Mauer, Phi '86 and drawn in by the social experience, shared values, and the opportunity to live within the principles of
the Fraternity. Those same principles still guide him today, and his connection to Sig Tau has only deepened with time. “The Fraternity delivered exactly what I expected—lifelong friendships and a network of brothers I know I can count on, and who know they can count on me.”
Paul lives in Westlake, Texas, and serves as a Partner at Ernst & Young, one of the world’s largest public accounting firms. A tax professional by training, he has spent more than 30 years in public accounting, over 20 years as a partner, and more than 15 years in firm leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Americas Markets Leader with responsibility for top-line revenue growth across the region.
Paul’s commitment to Sigma Tau Gamma goes far beyond his undergraduate years. He has served as Chapter Advisor, Regional Director, and completed two terms on the Board of Trustees of the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation. He is now in his second term on the Fraternity’s National Board of Directors, where he continues to serve in financial oversight roles including Treasurer, Director of the Finance Committee, and Director of the Audit Committee. As Finance Chair for the House Fundraising Committee, Paul brings unmatched expertise in fiscal strategy, oversight, and execution. “This effort aligns perfectly with my desire to contribute my time and talents to projects that matter. It’s about getting things done and adding value—but more importantly, it’s about leaving a legacy for future brothers to experience what we had.” Paul is married with three daughters, two college graduates (ACU and LSU), and one in high school. Outside of work, he’s passionate about soccer, fitness, and obstacle course racing. He’s played in both indoor and outdoor leagues, coached and refereed youth teams, and currently serves on the board of his city’s soccer association. He credits these passions—and Sigma Tau Gamma—with instilling in him a lifelong commitment to discipline, teamwork, and service.
Nicky Muscarello, Jr., Phi ’93
Legal/Governance Chair, House Fundraising Committee
Nicholas Muscarello, Jr. has been a proud brother of Sigma Tau Gamma since his initiation into the Phi Chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University in 1993. A lifelong Hammond resident with a strong dedication to public service and community impact, Nicky brings leadership, vision, and deep local ties to the House Fundraising Committee.
Nicky currently serves as State Representative for District 86 in the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing Tangipahoa Parish. He is a passionate advocate for education, infrastructure, and community development, and his work has made a direct impact on Southeastern Louisiana and the Phi Chapter.
In a pivotal contribution to this campaign, Nicky was solely responsible for securing the property on which the new chapter house will be built, a transformative step that brought the vision for this project closer to reality. His efforts laid the foundation, quite literally, for what will become a permanent home for generations of Sig Tau brothers.
As a committed alumnus and public servant, Nicky sees the new chapter house as more than just bricks and mortar—it’s a space for undergraduates to grow, lead, and build lifelong bonds, and a place alumni can return to with pride. His work on the committee reflects his belief in preserving the legacy and strengthening the future of Sigma Tau Gamma at Southeastern.
Whether at the Capitol or in the community, Representative Muscarello continues to lead with the values of brotherhood, service, and loyalty that have defined his Sig Tau journey from the start.
Mike Zicarelli, Phi ’90
Marketing Chair, House Fundraising Committee
Mike Zicarelli’s journey with Sigma Tau Gamma began after transferring from LSU to Southeastern Louisiana University. At LSU, he struggled to find a true sense of community. Determined to make a change, he chose to rush at SLU—and everything changed. The first faces he met on the front porch of the Sig Tau house were Randy Travis, Sammy Anderson, and Mike Hayes. From that moment, he was all in.
As an undergraduate, Mike held several roles, but his proudest was serving as Rush Chairman. His bid night shirt read “I Bleed Blue and White”—a phrase that wasn’t just a slogan, but a reflection of how much the fraternity meant to him and defined his college experience. He believed deeply in the brotherhood and wanted others to share in the same transformative experience he had found.
Professionally, Mike is the owner of ZX Investment Capital, a Dallas-based firm specializing in all segments of commercial real estate and private equity investments. A lifelong entrepreneur leader, he credits much of his personal and professional success to the foundational lessons he learned at 407 West Colorado: accountability, responsibility, and integrity. “I really grew up at the Sig Tau house,” Mike says. “It gave me structure, lifelong friendships, and a place I could always call home. Sig Tau made me who I am today—and I owe it to my future brothers to give them the same incredible experience.”
Now passionately involved in the House Fundraising Committee, Mike sees the new chapter house as a chance to strengthen alumni engagement and position Sig Tau for long-term success. He believes it will reignite chapter pride, enhance recruitment, and reaffirm Sig Tau’s place as a cornerstone of SLU’s Greek system.
Mike has been married for 23 years and is a proud father of two children. He enjoys golfing and hunting, especially with his kids. Some of his fondest fraternity memories include building The Swamp Party, road trips with brothers, shouting fraternity songs at parties, bid nights, and unforgettable evenings at The Crescent Bar. “It’s Sig Tau for Life. That’s what we signed up for.”
Tom Pistorius, Phi ’87
Architect of Record, House Fundraising Committee
Tom Pistorius was initiated into the Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma in January 1987 after graduating from Hammond High School. Drawn to the laid-back personalities of the brothers from New Orleans and Hammond, he found an instant connection with the chapter—and Sig Tau quickly became a central part of his college experience. “There was just something about the bond between the guys. It was easy, it was real—and it’s something that’s stuck with me ever since.”
Tom began his professional career in Phoenix, Arizona, where he spent the first chapter of his career practicing corporate architecture at a national level. In 2006, he and his young family moved back to Louisiana—choosing Hammond not only for work, but to reconnect with old friends and meet new Sigma Tau Gamma alumni. “After years away, it was incredible how easily I connected with other Sig Tau brothers—it was as if I already knew them. That’s what brotherhood looks like.”
Tom has remained actively involved in the fraternity for decades. He served on the Phi Alumni Association (PAA) Housing Committee as early as 2008, helping restart conversations about a new chapter house. He also served on the PAA Board for several years, including three to four years as Treasurer, providing financial stewardship during a time of change and transition.
Today, Tom is proud to serve as the Architect of Record for the new Sig Tau house and has been a driving force behind the campaign’s vision and design. “It’s a privilege to play a part in this chapter’s future—not just as an alumnus, but as someone who can help shape the space that will bring brothers together for decades to come.”
Through his firm, Pistorius Associates LLC, Tom brings more than 30 years of architectural experience to this project. His vision for the new house is grounded in both form and function, but most importantly, in meaning: “This home will reflect the strength and unity we’ve all come to know as Sig Taus. This is about legacy—and we’re building it together.”
Troy Hankins, Phi ’19
Generational Lead (2015-2025), House Fundraising Committee
President, Phi Alumni Association
Troy Hankins has proudly called Phi Chapter home since his initiation in the spring of 2019 during his sophomore year at Southeastern Louisiana University. As an undergraduate, he held multiple leadership positions that required him to navigate the chapter through significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Ida. These experiences shaped his leadership style and strengthened the decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills that continue to serve him today.
Troy currently serves as President of the Phi Alumni Association (PAA), where he focuses on expanding membership, preserving Phi Chapter’s history, strengthening the alumni network, and building sustainable support systems for the undergraduate chapter. Since joining the PAA Board in 2023—shortly after its re-establishment—Troy has played a key role in rekindling alumni engagement and advocating for a long-term vision for the chapter’s future.
A native of New Orleans and now residing in Hammond, Louisiana, Troy earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in May 2025. He plans to remain in Southeast Louisiana to begin his legal career following admission to the Louisiana State Bar.
Troy believes that a strong alumni network is essential to the future of Phi Chapter. With a proud 85-year history and more than 1,100 initiated brothers, he sees the chapter as deserving of a permanent house—a place where undergraduates can live, grow, and thrive, and alumni can return to for generations to come. “The chapter house is more than a building,” he says. “It’s a symbol of our legacy, our shared experiences, and our continued commitment to brotherhood.”
Robbie van Mullem, Phi ’89
Web Development Chair, House Fundraising Committee
Robbie van Mullem was initiated into the Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma in the spring of 1989 as Phi #673. A lifelong resident of Amite, Louisiana, Robbie has remained closely connected to the brotherhood, especially in recent years as he’s reconnected with alumni across generations. “
As someone who graduated from college over 30 years ago, one of the most rewarding experiences has been meeting fellow Sig Taus in social settings. Whether they’re older or younger, there’s always an instant sense of camaraderie—a bond that’s lasted for more than 85 years at Southeastern.”
Professionally, Robbie spent 23 years in sales and marketing within the veterinary industry, and for the past 16 years has owned and operated 3 Sided Media, a digital marketing firm serving clients nationwide. His experience in communications and branding has made him an asset to the campaign’s outreach and digital presence.
As a member of the House Fundraising Committee, Robbie brings personal passion and firsthand perspective. “Having a fraternity house was such a central part of my college experience. I moved in as a pledge in 1989 and lived there off and on until I graduated. It was where my day started—parking my car in the morning—and often where it ended, hanging out in the afternoon with a group of brothers, talking about our day.”
Robbie hopes the new chapter house will offer future generations the same daily connection to brotherhood he experienced. Some of his favorite memories include working side-by-side with brothers to plan chapter events, especially Swamp, a legendary Sig Tau party that took weeks to build and brought the chapter together through shared effort, creativity, and fun. “It wasn’t just about the event—it was about the bond that formed while we made it happen.”
Paul Brady, Phi ‘91
Generational Lead (1995-2004), House Fundraising Committee
Paul Brady joined Sigma Tau Gamma in 1991 after being recruited by fellow Rummel High School graduate Chris Mauer. A few summer get-togethers with the chapter sealed the deal—he quickly formed a strong bond with the brothers and never looked back. Today, Paul says that bond is just as strong: “Being a brother means knowing I can call on someone at any time, and they’ll do whatever they can to help.”
Originally from Louisiana and now living in Fayetteville, Georgia, Paul serves as Vice President of Sales for the Southeast USA at DHL eCommerce. With over 25 years of experience managing teams and complex projects, he brings strategic insight and organizational leadership to the campaign effort. His professional background and natural leadership style make him a valuable part of the Fundraising Committee.
As an undergraduate, Paul served as Chapter President and Vice President and later returned to serve on the Phi Alumni Association Board. His motivation for helping lead this campaign runs deep: “I was on the PAA Board when the house on Colorado Street caught fire and had to be torn down. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to see a new one rise in its place—for the brothers to enjoy and call home once again.”
Paul hopes this effort brings together brothers from across generations to reconnect, rally, and celebrate the return of a true physical home for Phi Chapter. He and his wife Karen have been married for 25 years and are proud parents to Brooke, 23, a University of West Georgia graduate, and Jack, 20, a junior at LSU.
Jared Lyons, Phi ‘96
Generational Lead House (2005-TBD), Fundraising Committee
Jared Lyons is a proud alumnus of the Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma at Southeastern Louisiana University. During and after his time at SLU, Jared remained actively involved in the brotherhood, serving on the Phi Alumni Association (PAA) Board, including serving as President. His continued leadership reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting the chapter and strengthening its alumni network.
Professionally, Jared serves as a Portfolio Manager at Entergy, based in the Greater New Orleans Region, where he leads capital planning and project execution in the energy sector. His experience in financial strategy, infrastructure investment, and operational oversight brings valuable insight to the House Fundraising Committee as it plans for the construction and long-term sustainability of a new chapter house.
As a member of the committee, Jared plays an important role in advancing the campaign’s goals and helping ensure that future generations of Sig Tau benefit from the same sense of community and opportunity that defined his own experience.
Dickie Whitson, Phi ’69
Generational Lead (1965-1974),
House Fundraising Committee
Dickie Whitson joined Sigma Tau Gamma at Southeastern Louisiana University in 1969, drawn to the fraternity for its social life and intramural spirit—only to discover it would become one of the most meaningful experiences of his life. More than five decades later, his commitment to service and brotherhood remains as strong as ever.
A longtime resident of Springfield, Louisiana, Dickie spent his professional career in medical device sales, ultimately retiring as a Sales Director and being honored with induction into his division’s Hall of Fame. But it’s his leadership within the Sig Tau and Southeastern communities that truly stands out.
As an undergraduate, Dickie served as Vice President of Management and Pledge Trainer, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of mentorship and alumni leadership. His post-college involvement includes service as President of the New Orleans Alumni Chapter (NOAC), Phi Chapter Mentor, President of the SLU Alumni Association, Vice President of the Lion Athletic Association Board of Directors, and Founder and President of Golden Pride, a group honoring SLU’s most dedicated athletic supporters. Dickie is also the winner of the 2025 Sigma Tau Gamma Prof Grubbs Advisor of the Year from the National Fraternity.
As a Generational Lead on the House Fundraising Committee, Dickie sees this campaign as both a chance to give back and a call to rally brothers across decades. “We’re not just building a house—we’re building pride, strengthening brotherhood, and restoring the public image of Phi Chapter. This is our legacy, and Sig Tau is for life.”
Some of Dickie’s fondest Sig Tau memories include time spent with the brother who initiated him, lifelong mentor Cameron Barr, countless intramural games, and the unwavering support of his wife, Sylvia, throughout her illness,an example of true partnership that has continued to inspire others.
David Gorsich, Phi ‘89
Generational Lead (1985-1994), House Fundraising Committee
David Gorsich has long been one of the most connected and committed brothers of the Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma at Southeastern Louisiana University. Known for his big personality and even bigger memory, if anyone knows where a brother is or what he’s been up to, it’s Dave. His time at Southeastern earned him a well-deserved reputation as a “career student,” but even more so as the brother who never let a friendship fade.
David serves as a Senior Territory Manager for Zynex Medical, covering South Louisiana, where he has built a highly successful career in medical sales. With deep roots in Baton Rouge, he’s known for his ability to build lasting relationships, navigate complex sales environments, and bring people together, whether in the field or among his fraternity brothers.
Outside of work, David has been married to his wife, Tricia, since 2012, and enjoys a life full of travel, adventure, and connection. He splits time between Baton Rouge and his second home in Montana, where he enjoys the peace and open spaces of the outdoors. A passionate LSU baseball fan, David is also an avid fisherman, always eager to get out on the water whether it’s the Louisiana marshes or mountain streams.
David’s deep personal network, magnetic personality, and unwavering love for Sig Tau make him a vital member of the House Fundraising Committee. For him, the new chapter house represents more than just a building—it’s about preserving the bonds that shaped his life and ensuring that the next generation of brothers has a home where those same lifelong friendships can begin.
